How a Roadside Motel Became Haven Villa
It started in 2008 with a tired motel, a bigger dream, and a family that refused to sell to a chain.
We kept what mattered — the generous Queensland welcome — and rebuilt everything else around it. The casino licence came in 2014, the spa in 2018, and the ballroom in 2021. Each addition had to earn its place: if it didn't make guests stay longer and leave happier, it didn't get built.
The Motel Years
The Haven family buys a 24-room motel on Fox St. First renovation is funded, legend says, by a very good night at a Brisbane poker table.
The Casino Licence
Gaming licence granted. We open with 12 tables and 80 machines, plus a promise: dealers who teach, not just deal.
Spa & Wellness Wing
Six treatment rooms and a heated pool. Turns out casino guests like massages. Who knew.
The Ballroom & Today
A 220-seat ballroom opens for weddings and events. Haven Villa becomes what it is now: 120 rooms, three restaurants, one very busy gaming floor.
